Claims Guide

THE STEPS
  • Call up your insurance company and register your claim.
  • Be sure to mention you want to take your car to "Hibiscus Coast Panelbeaters".
  • You will be allocated a claim number by your insurance company. This number is very significant.
  • If it involves two parties and you have full insurance, then stake your claim through your insurer.
  • If the fault lies with the other party, then your policy history won’t be affected, and you certainly don’t owe them any excess payment.
  • If you have no insurance or a third party insurance, then you need to be aware of the other party’s insurance company as well as their claim number.
  • Once the insurer is given an‘uninsured declaration’ signed by you, your claim can be cleared. The insurer will provide you with a form.
NEXT STEP – THE ASSESSMENT
  • If your car is drivable, you may visit us, if not you can call us for towing assistance.
  • We will then take photographs, and prepare the quotation for the insurance company; we will then forward it to them via the right channel.
  • Once your insurance company accepts your claim and approves the repairs, we will book your vehicle for repairs, in accordance with your courtesy car requirements.
  • Some insurance companies may require your vehicle ‘on-site’ so that they may inspect it physically.
  • It is generally required for the vehicle to be left for the whole day. The assessor visits are usually on working days i.e., Monday to Friday.
  • On this day, a relief vehicle may be unavailable but we should certainly be able to drop you back home or to work.
